The site of Ma‘ayan Baruch (Hamara) is located on a moderate hill marking the northern edge of the Hula Basin. It is an Upper Acheulian site with a large assemblage of thousands of flint hand axes that were found during surveys (most of them discovered as surface finds). Within this assemblage, a collection of basalt hand axes was retrieved as well, representing a particular technological choice within the Upper Acheulian.
