Azor is situated southeast of Tel Aviv within the Mediterranean central Coastal Plain, on the western slope of kurkar ridges, approximately 6 km of the Mediterranean seashore. The site was a subject of numerous excavation campaigns since the 1920s and it yielded remains of the Late Chalcolithic and Early Bronze Age I settlement occupations as well as material culture from the Islamic and Ottoman periods.
