Tel Qishyon is situated in the eastern Jezreel Valley, south of Mt. Tabor. The total area of the site is ca. 12 ha. It consists of two principal units: a northeastern Upper Mound or ‘acropolis’ and a southwestern Lower Terrace. Most recent excavations by Israel Antiquities Authority (concentrated on the northwestern part of the site and revealed remains dated from the Neolithic until Iron Age II.
