Sefunim cave lies at an elevation of 125 m above sea level on the south bank of Nahal Sefunim, a deeply incised valley at the western edge of Mount Carmel. The cave complex consists of central and inner chambers, as well as an eastern terrace in front of the cave. Human activity within the cave dates back to the Middle Palaeolithic through the historical periods.
